When you listen to all the concerns about the already polluted air that prevails in Manchester, you would think that learned men would be horrified that someone wants to construct an incinerator in this area. Am I missing the point that a company can push through a plan to build something, that is so wrong in every aspect that the considerations of the people are just pushed aside? I thought this country was a democracy and that the good of all was consider above those of the few. The pollutants given off by the standing traffic in and around the area of the proposed plant, on it’s own should be enough to stopped this planning application. If this application is given the green light, then I think the ordinary people in the Trafford Area, will have come to know the true quality of the people they once voted for and will think again! The legacy of the their actions will have an impact on people’s lives for years to come, without fail!

I have just submitted my objection.

A friend who lives in Rossendale has given me a copy of an article in the Rossendale Free Press 29th Jan.
“Plant plan over as firms will not appeal decision” Peel Environmental and Marshalls plc will not be contesting refusal of their joint planning appeal for an anaerobic digestion plant in Ramsbottom. Bury Council refused permission in 2014 and Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Local Govt. refused the appeal last November after an 11 day public enquiry. Why oh why can’t the same thing happen here – IF ONLY PEEL WOULD BACK DOWN !!!!

Just submitted my objection, this would be a nightmare for residents I fear for my grandchildren.

  4. Jerry Connolly says:

Traffic congestion in/around the Trafford Centre is already intolerable for those of living in the locality. The congestion brings with it the noxious fumes from the vehicles are already at unacceptable levels but it seems that Peel are just after making money and have no interest in the well being of their fellow human being.

The construction of the incinerator will only foreshorten our life expectancy but that seems to have escaped Peel Holding mind. I say mind because they obviously have no conscience.

What do the Peel employees who live in the affected area have to say or are they having to vote for the scheme to keep their jobs.

Multi-millionaire Mr Whittaker has a lot to answer for.

The air in this area is highly polluted already and this incinerator will make matters even worse. We have pollution from the motorway, high volume of traffic on our roads, Trafford Park, Trafford Centre, etc., we don’t want any more!! I have grandchildren and a great grandchild who all live in the area and I am worried about their health in such a polluted environment.
Is money more important than our health?
